What is mentoring?

Mentoring is a little like life coaching or having a spiritual director. A mentor is someone who meets with you one-on-one to discuss ways in which you want to grow and develop in your life. Mentoring can be spiritually focused, where your mentor leads you to grow in your faith and deepen your relationship with God, or can be more broadly focused on your life goals, both personal and professional.

The important thing to remember is that your mentor is there for you - it is a time where you are able to talk about any issues or problems you choose.

How often you meet with your mentor is completely up to you. You can meet every month or every few months. Mentoring will take place at a location agreed upon by you and your mentor. As for who mentors you, Formation will do their utmost to provide you with a mentor you are happy with and someone you feel comfortable talking to.

How much does mentoring cost?

As Formation is a charity, there is a cost involved with mentoring . Mentoring is charged at £40 per hour for individuals and £25 per hour for students. Higher rates apply if you are being sponsored by your organisation. Please contact Viv to find out more.
