What makes Formation unique?

All Formation courses are based on a dynamic understanding of the Trinity, Christian scripture, contemporary culture, practical theology, imaginative use of media and discussion.

Formation courses focus on and give full attention to the daily reality of your life. We fully accept that life is sometimes messy, confusing and just downright busy and these are the grounds in which we live and want to develop as Christians.

Why does Formation charge fees?

As an independent charity, Formation depends largely on the income received from fees charged for courses and other activities. To put it bluntly, everything costs money and someone has to pay for it. Accordingly, it is necessary to charge realistic fees where appropriate, to cover personnel costs and other expenses incurred in running a ministry such as this.

Formation is also involved in many parts of the world where recipients are unable to meet the actual costs of the ministry. Courses that are run in less wealthy countries - for example Russia, Algeria, India - are generally provided free of charge. This is in response to the limited resources of these countries and their clear need and desire to receive it.

We also recognise that there may be some individuals, churches or organisations in the UK who find the fee schedule daunting. In some circumstances it may be possible to reduce the fees so please talk with or email Viv Thomas to discuss the possibilities.
